For those of you who don't know, my back ground is in care/complementary therapies, and I also do voluntary work for St John Ambulance. I help look after and train the youth, as well as being (newly promoted!) there welfare officer. Its my job to look after the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual welfare, and this morning I did my annual one on ones with them and I want to share something that... shocked me.
One of my cadets, who I will call Sally told me today that she has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and high blood pressure. She is fifteen! There has been no investigation as to why she has these issues, and no alternatives given.
What do you think about meditating kids. Surely it should be an ABSOLOUTE last resort? What do you think?
