I was in love with Nick Armstrong! After his wake, my step-mother took me away for a week just to get away from the pain. The feeling of loss was so overwhelming that even shopping didn't help like it used to for breakups and heartaches. We had just arrived home and took everything from the car in to the house. When my cell phone went off; I took it out of my pocket and looked at the screen. It ended up being a message from my father telling me he'd be home late. I messaged him back then went through my contacts and stopped at Faye's number. I haven't returned any of the messages from when I was gone, except for my father's. I quickly typed Faye a message. "Hey Faye sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but i'm home now if you want to stop by." I hit send, grabbed my stuff and went to my room to wait for a reply.

I was pretty bummed out Cassie didn't get the files...I mean I really needed to check on Melissa. See if she's okay! She's like the only person who embraces my attitude...most of the time. I just needed to know she was okay, and needed to know if we could talk, because despite our amazing friendship, she had been somewhat cutting herself away from the group ever since Nick's death...

As I was ready to stick the key in the whole to my house I felt a vibration in my pocket and a loud jingle. "Ah!" I screamed, dropping the keys. I guess I was so used to the quiet in the neighborhood it took me for a ride! I picked up the keys and pulled out my cell. MEL. Ohmigosh! She texted me!

The message read. I slid out my keyboard and quickly texted:


MEL. OMG, u had me so damn worried! Txt me ur address and I'll be there as soon as possible! Cn't wait 2 c u!

OOC: I guess you can just make up an address...lol.

I was sitting on my bed staring out of the window watching the sky slowly change colors as it started to get dark. It was beautiful seeing the sunset from a new perspective, in my new room. Crap! I thought to myself; I forgot to text Faye my new address. Suddenly my phone went off making me jump. I looked at me phone and smiled slightly as I read Faye's message.

I gave a small laugh at Faye's text, since I had just realized I didn't give her the address just before I received her text. I hit the reply button and quickly typed. "The address is 524 Chase St. see you soon." I sent the text and put my phone on the bed behind me. I stood up and walked over to me dresser and opened one of the boxes labeled Mel's pictures. I started hanging up the pictures while i waited for Faye.

I was almost done hanging up the pictures when i heard the door bell ring, I set the handful of pictures down along with the tape and headed for the stairs. Jessica poked her head out of her bedroom with a puzzled look on her face."It's Faye!" I told my step-mother, she nodded and had a genuine smile on her face. I smile as i continued down the hall towards the stairs. For once i was actually showing a real smile since Nick's death, all the smiles i had been giving people were forced. I got to the top of the stairs and my smile grew. I took the steps two at a time. When i hit the landing i almost tripped, causing me to laugh as i opened the door. Faye looked anxious to see me and i couldn't help myself; i flung myself at her. "I've missed you!" I all but shrieked at her as i hugged my best friend.

OOC: Mel's step-mom was unnamed so her name is now Jessica

Faye held me in the same embrace I held her, but of course Faye being Faye had to say something. "Well, are you gonna invite me in, or are we gonna have this reunion on your front steps?" She laughed a little which caused me to laugh.

"Of, course Faye. Please come in." I said reluctantly letting go of my friend. "Don't mind the mess and all the boxes. While Jessica and I were away my dad moved us into the new house. The old house had too many bad memories for us especially for my dad." I paused and looked at Faye before i continued speaking. I couldn't decipher the expression on her face so I looked away and continued walking towards the staircase. "Since my dad married Jessica there was always a pained look on his face, and since Nick..." I couldn't finish the rest of it, i choked up like there was a lump in my throat. I blinked away the start of the tears that were welling up in my eyes.

"My dad thought it would be a good change of pace; for a new start!"
I told her as I lead the way up to my bedroom. I walked through the door and turned towards Faye with a devilish grin on my face.

I smiled at Faye's comment. "Are you kidding it has a lot of potential!" I said as my grin grew wider. "They gave me the master bedroom, and I need your help decorating!"
