Arrival (#202)

I was waiting for Melissa to answer when Faye strolled up and called me Jake. I looked at her weird but before I could say anything Melissa opened the door looking drunk, she heard Faye call me Jake too. "Yea I'm not your boyfriend but he is with Cassie in the backyard with bump on his head." I told her. I turned back to Melissa. "No time for partying Mel, we have problems to take care of." I told her. Is everyone going crazy? Well Melissa is drunk but all the same.

"Ah crap," I said, laying back down, holding my hands over my face. "Yeah, I dug up crystal skull, and out here for you and Adam, but I got hit in the head from behind by someone." I said, rubbing my face. "I'll give the person credit," I said, cracking my head both ways. "They sure as hell know how to pack a punch." I said, trying to smile, but it made my head hurt, so I stopped smiling. "Cassie ... You do realize why I had decided to bury it, right?" I asked, seeing if she remembered what had happened at the abandoned building with the skull, how she wanted the power.

"We have problems, no Cassie has problems." I was pissed now since Adam had to be a buzz kill. "I can see why Diana left! Ever since the Blonde Demon Spawn came into our lives, we've had nothing but trouble." I didn't mean to take it out basically on Adam about Cassie. But I was pissed and the booze was talking. "For one night Adam I'd like to try to be normal and have some fun. You should take our advice and stop being a party pooper." I said as Faye grabbed my hand and dragged me over to the table. I turned to look at Adam at the door. "Lighten up Adam, have some fun for once!"

"Yes Jake, I know. But seriously, if you just like look at it and touch it for a minute, you can't stop the feeling. Then when you see it again, it's...Jake, it's like a drug." She admitted.

I walked inside after Faye. "Trust me Melissa all I want is normal but the Skull was taken. Someone hit Jake over the head and took it." I told her. Which reminded me as to why Faye wasn't worried about Jake being hurt. "We have Blackwells running around and you two want to party and Jake is hurt." I told them. Something was off now.

"Which is all the more reason to destroy the thing." I said, looking at Cassie.

"Jake probably deserved getting hit over the head." I slurred while walking closer to Adam. "I admit that I've wanted to hit him over the head multiple times." I smirked at him. "They can handle themselves." I said handing Adam a full bottle of booze. "Besides there's safety in numbers right? With you and Faye here I won't be alone, like i'm supposed to be." I said trying to sweet talk Adam into having some fun.

"Is it wrong to feel the urge to stab you when you say that?" She asked, looking at him with a confused look.

I was getting tempted to just let go and have fun but I couldn't get rid of the gut feeling I was getting. Something was up. "There members of our Circle. Were supposed to help each other." I told Melissa. I ignored Faye cause she was well Faye but I was still curious. "And you, how come your not seething at the fact Jake is hurt cause of Balcoins and that Cassie is with him....alone. A few steps away from his bedroom?" I asked. Faye was off, thats what it was.

I made a wierded out face when Cassie said. "Damn, talk about evil." I said, jokingly. "But Cassie, I'm being serious. That Skull being around will just tear the Circle apart, and may end up killing us, hell, maybe even all of Chance Harbor." I said, looking at Cassie. "I know the power is great, but you saw how I fought the urge to fight off the want of it's power." I said, smiling at Cassie. "Plus, What if the Blackwell Children know how to activate it? They could end up killing us, and like I said, all of Chance Harbor. Do you want protect the people who you care about, and who also care for you?"

"Come on Adam, you're raining on my parade!" I sighed heavily. I was bored now. "Fine why don't you take Faye to see her precious Jake." I said rolling my eyes, I wasn't in the mood to party any more. I probably just needed to sleep. I plopped down on the couch and curled up.

Cassie sighed. "We need to find some way to break this obsession. It's killing me, Jake." She admitted, holding her head down.

"Balcoin, Blackwell, still evil." I said. "Cassie has some issue with her Magic but the rest of them, minus Diana, have all been in league with Blackwell. They like having all that Dark Magic." I told her. Since when did Faye defend someone? I sighed. "Then go to sleep Melissa, your to wasted to help anybody anyway." I said. Apparently I'm the only sane one in this Circle.

I looked at Cassie, biting my lip. "The obsession is also killing me and the rest of the others in the Circle. Just think, if a regular person got a hold of that death toy?"

"Hey slut what was that for?" I said after Faye threw a pillow at me. I was too out of it to notice anything wrong. But it did seem strange to hear Faye call Adam darling. "Later Adam." I said giving him a little wave. I stuffed the pillow that Faye threw, under my head.

Cassie stood up and started screaming. "Well I'm not thinking about them, I'm thinking about RIPPING YOUR HEAD OFF FOR EVEN SUGGESTING TO DESTROY IT." She saw Ms. Fudge across the street. "Hi, Ms. Fudge! We got the lead in the play!!! WOOO!" She waved, and looked back at Jake.

Darling? Was Faye taking more of that stupid drug her and Melissa got from the Callum douche? I shook my head and looked back at Melissa. "You know what, how about you go check on them? I mean Jake is your boyfriend and we wouldn't want to leave Melissa alone with all these Balcoins running around right?" I asked purposely using Balcoin. I had a suspucion and man I hoped I was wrong.

Oh shit, I thought, when I saw Ms. Fudge. I started getting up and jumping, and said, "YEAH!! I LOVE THAT PLAY THAT WE ARE DOING!!! WOOHOO!!" I shouted, smiling at Ms. Fudge. She shook her head, and went back in. I sighed while putting my arms down, and turned to Cassie, saying. "I hate that woman." I said, sitting back down on the portch.

I looked at Adam as Faye left. "Why didn't you go with her?" I questioned with a yawn. I know he didn't really get alone with Faye, but to let her go by herself. At least if I was here by myself I could lock the door. "You can sit down you know." I sighed out since Adam was still standing.

"Total bitch." She mumbled, agreeing with him. Just then, Cassie noticed Faye pull up. "Speaking of bitches..."
