Friend's bunking up. (Kayla Briggs)

Kayla felt Cody's lips press against hers and this time she didn't think about it she just responded. She kissed him back and she could feel her cheeks getting warm again. She kissed him back and she shifted slightly on the bed so her body was completely facing him.

He was surprised this time, Kayla actually leaned in for the kiss, instead of pulling away. It was nice and warm, and a little wet. But Cody didn't mind at all, he was doing the one thing that he seemed to want to do since he met her at the Grill. His memories were still there, he actually liked Kayla back, but didn't want to say anything in case it would jeopardize their friendship. But what they were doing didn't seem like it was jeopardizing anything. He continued kissing her as he laid her down ontop of the mattress, and put his hand around the back of her head.

Kayla smiled even more as Cody laid her down on the mattress. She felt her body responding to his kiss as well and she moved her hands behind his neck and started to deepen the kiss. She was hoping that nothing she did would make him pull away. But after a while she didn't think about anything more then Cody and her together.

Cody could feel Kayla's lips move as he was kissing her, stretching out into a smile. He felt her hands behind his neck as she moved them in a massaging sort of motion. The kiss all of a sudden got a lot wetter as Kayla slipped him something, he rather enjoyed the way it felt near his throat. What the hell he thought as he, too, deepened it, twirling around in his mouth. That moment was better for him then even a shower, having fun with someone he cared about, and apparently deeply as he stood up and took his white shirt off before leaning back in.

Kayla felt as Cody's shirt came off and she ran her hands down his chest and stomach. She smiled as she kept kissing him and wrapped one of her legs around his waist.

Cody could feel Kayla's hands moving downward toward his pelvis as she continued kissing him, as her leg went around his waist he felt a little bit of a jerk as he was pulled closer to her. He still wasn't quite sure about this whole thing, but decided to stick with it anyway. It was beginning to get darker outside as the light through the window seemed to blacken the room, before they seemed to be in darkness as he began lifting her shirt off.


4 Hour Timeskip


It was still dark outside, around 3 in the morning when Cody began to wake up. He first looked outside, hoping that the sun would have risen by that time, but his hopes seemed dashed as rolled over and looked at Kayla beside him.

Kayla was laying down on her side facing toward Cody as she woke up. She was a little afraid to open her eyes and look at him. What if he regrets it? She asked herself So she laid there with her eyes closed not wanting to lose the memories of the night.

As Cody's glance moved to Kayla's face, he could see that she still seemed asleep, even though she winced a little bit. After looking at her face for a minute, he rolled over onto his back and stared at the ceiling, thinking about the previous hours and how nice it was hanging out with someone he knew, instead of being alone, moving from town to town. He soon decided to get up and make up some coffee in the little two cup machine that each room had. He opened up a package of pre-made coffee filters and put one in, began adding water before setting down the lid and turning it on. His body turned around to face Kayla again, but sat down on a chair that was beside the counter as he just watched her sleep.

Kayla heard Cody get up and start coffee. She finally got the courage to open her eys and looked to see Cody sitting there. She put a small smile on her face and said "Good morning."

His view soon turned to Kayla's eyes as she opened them, looking upon him. Was she awake that whole time? He wasn't quite sure. But he didn't really want to ask her anyway in case it turned into an argument or the silent treatment, so he just replied. "Morning. Did you sleep well?" He asked, unsure if she heard him over the noise of the coffee machine.

Kayla sat up in bed and folded her legs under her. "Yes I slept very well." she said and tried to act natural. She hoped nothing would get awkward because she really liked him, but she wasn't sure how he felt. "Did you sleep well?" she asked politely.

He smiled at her reply, nothing is better then a good 4 hour sleep. As he looked back to the coffee pot to see how much it has been filled, Kayla asked him the same question. "Yea, actually. That four hour sleep did wonders" He said, jokingly. He did enjoy what happened a few hours ago, but knew he had to ask anyway. He stood up, sighing before making his way over to the bed before speaking again. "So, last night was nice." He told her as he placed his hand onto hers, intertwining the fingers waiting for a reply.

Kayla smiled as Cody walked over and took her hand. She gave his a gentle squeeze and said "Yes it was." She looked over at him to see if what he was saying was the truth. When she looked over at his face he looked sincere.

As he held her hand in his, he felt a squeeze and already knew what her answer would be, causing him to smile in the middle of her speaking. He looked up, from at their hands to her light hazel eyes as she looked into his baby blue's. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like he liked Kayla more then friends, in that moment. He knew of his feelings before, but wasn't sure if he wanted to act on it or not, but he now knew. "I know we need to talk about it, and I can see you want to too." He told her, looking down to their hands, "Do you feel the same way about me?" He asked, not sure if he wanted to hear the answer.

Kayla gave him a warm smile. "Yes I do. she said absolutely and squeezed his hand again. This was one of the only times she has let herself go and shown her emotions. But there was something about Cody, she had always felt she could open up to him. "I don't know exactly how you felt about last night, but I thought it was amazing." she said looking away out of embarrassment. She had ot at least tell him how she felt. Even if that mean she ended up hurt.

His heart seemed to be filled with happiness after she said those words, he felt the same way about her. He couldn't explain how, or even why he was beginning to be feeling the happiest in his life, but he didn't try to figure it out. As she squeezed his hand, he squeezed back a little harder to show her how he felt. As she told him how she felt about the previous night, he smiled. He didn't mean to, it just sort of came out, and he was somewhat surprised by it. "Yea, I thought it was amazing too." He said as he brought his free hand up and brought her view back to face him before leaning in and kissing her on the cheek, then continued. "We need to be more careful though. Not just about doing... that. But there are probably hunters in town, looking for witches to burn. So we both need to keep an eye out" He told her, hoping it wouldn't exactly ruin the moment.

Kayla smiled and then it slowly faded. "You're right. I'm sorry I didn't think about it." she said. She should not have been so stupid. She should have been smart and thought about the hunters.

Cody felt as though he had just ruined the moment that they were sharing, intimate, loving, and fun hanging out just talking. But he had to be realistic, the hunters were probably already on his trail, although he wasn't quite sure about Kayla. He tried to be as sincere as he could. "I am sorry, Kayla" He said as he lightly kissed her, before pulling away. "I wish we could do the whole white picket fence thing, but truth is. We are witches, and we need to protect ourselves." He told her, smiling. "Not just ourselves, but each other. Because I don't want any harm to come to you."

Kayla thought about what he said. It would be nice if they could do the whole white picket fence, long front porch and a family. But he was right. They were witches and they were being hunted. The most important thing was to make sure each other was safe. "I know.' she said putting a smile on. "We will have to be more careful, because I am not going to let anything happen to you." she said and looked into his eyes so he could see the sincerity she held on her face.

It was nice that she understood what he was talking about. He rarely found a friend who agreed with him, let alone a girl who he liked very much that agreed with him on something he felt strongly about: Staying alive, and protecting each other. He looked up at her as she agreed with what he was saying. "I know you wouldn't, Kayla. But it does help to be safe, alright?" He told her as she looked into his eyes, he wasn't quite sure why, but he appeared to look right into her eyes, and almost instantly noticed the sincerity that she meant what she had just said.

The coffee machine then finished brewing as it stopped making noise. As he looked outside, the sun began to rise and light peered through the curtains like a flash light through a sheet. They must have been talking for at least a half hour, a very fast half hour. He had always slept past the beginning of the sun rise, not knowing when it had actually begun.

Kayla looked up at the coffee pot as it finished and she could see the light streaming in. "Need help with that?" she asked gesturing to the coffee.

As he was sitting on the bed, still holding Kayla's hand, she asked. "Yea, actually. Do you want to help?" He asked her back, as he kissed her on the cheek before turning toward the wall and standing up, waiting for her reply.

Kayla smiled brightly. "Yeah." she got up from the bed and walked over to the coffee pot.

As he arrived at the counter which held the coffee machine on top, and a little fridge underneath, he reached toward the microwave and grabbed two cups. One for Kayla, and one for himself. He could hear her walk closer to him as she came to help with the coffee, the floor creaked under neath her at every step, then she brushed shoulders with him as she arrived. He passed one cup to her, as he held onto his own and waiting for Kayla to pour hers. His vision moved to her hair, all messy and sexy, he couldn't help but stare as she stood there beside him.

Kayla poured her coffee and could see that he was looking at her "What is it?" she asked with a smile and looked at him. "I probably look like a mess." she said touching her hair.
